in Logistics & Transportation

Canada and the United States are set to enhance North American trade connectivity with the opening of a new international bridge linking Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan. The new crossing is expected to improve freight movement, increase transportation capacity and strengthen one of the continent’s busiest trade corridors.

Scheduled to open to traffic on July 27, the six-lane bridge will provide an additional route for commercial trucks, helping ease congestion and improve the flow of goods between the two countries. The new infrastructure is expected to support more efficient logistics operations and reinforce supply chain resilience for manufacturers, retailers and exporters.

The bridge will also introduce greater capacity for cross-border transportation, supporting growing trade volumes while creating more reliable connections for regional supply chains. In addition to commercial traffic, the crossing will also accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, improving overall connectivity between the neighboring communities.

The project represents a long-term investment in modern transportation infrastructure that is expected to boost trade, strengthen economic cooperation and support the continued growth of North American supply chains despite evolving global trade conditions.
