Accenture has announced that it is buying Staufen, a well-known German consultancy that focuses on supply chain and operations. This decision aims to strengthen Accenture’s ability to help its clients with significant changes in their supply chains.
Founded in 1994, Staufen has earned a solid reputation in helping businesses improve their operations, especially in industries like automotive, aerospace, industrial goods, and medical equipment. They provide services related to operational excellence, digital manufacturing, supply chain management, continuous improvement, and data analysis.
As part of the acquisition, about 200 consultants from Staufen, who are based in six different countries including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the US, Mexico, and Brazil, will join Accenture’s supply chain and operations team. This will help Accenture offer more complete solutions to their clients, addressing important challenges such as rising production costs and complicated supply chain issues.
Christina Raab, who leads Accenture’s operations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, highlighted the significance of this acquisition in today’s business world. She said, “In a time of uncertainty, companies need solutions that cover all important aspects of their operations. Now more than ever, the need for operational excellence is crucial, and bringing in Staufen’s knowledge will help us maximize manufacturing and supply chain operations for our clients.”
Matthias Hégelé, who oversees supply chain and operations at Accenture in that region, added that the acquisition fits well with their plans. He remarked, “Manufacturers need to continuously improve their entire value chain to stay competitive. Adding Staufen to our team aligns with our goal of transforming supply chains and manufacturing for our clients.”
This acquisition is part of Accenture’s ongoing strategy to grow its expertise in supply chain and operations. In recent years, they have acquired several companies in this area, including the US-based Intrigo Systems in 2018, which specialized in SAP solutions for e-commerce, supply chain, and procurement. These moves show Accenture’s commitment to enhancing their services and providing innovative solutions in supply chain management and operations.
Details about the financial aspects of the Staufen acquisition haven’t been revealed, and it’s important to note that the deal does not include Staufen’s operations in China or its ValueStreamer product line.
