The ranking framework assessed ports on connectivity and customer value, productivity, sustainability, enablers, and overall impact — with Singapore leading in each category. The report highlighted the strategic importance of its advanced port facilities, efficient governance structures, and extensive mainline-to-feeder network connectivity that supports global maritime flows.
Central to this achievement is the rapidly expanding mega-terminal operations at Tuas Port, which once fully completed will have one of the largest container handling capacities in the world. The port’s automation and digitalisation efforts are also seen as key contributors to enhanced cargo handling efficiencies and robust supply chain integration.
