A newly completed logistics facility at Helsinki Airport has been acquired by a European real estate investor, marking a strategic addition to its expanding portfolio.
The 15,000m² (c. 161,000ft²) site serves as a major parcel sorting centre in Finland, capable of processing more than 6,000 parcels per hour. Its location adjacent to the airside allows rapid connection to runways, supporting efficient air and ground logistics.
Built to high sustainability standards, the facility features geothermal heating and solar panels, reflecting a focus on environmentally responsible design.
Officials noted that the facility’s modern operational setup and flexible design enable it to serve a variety of logistics needs while maintaining strong environmental credentials.
The site was officially inaugurated in September as a major €100 million (£87 million) logistics hub, handling international, European, national, and local parcels via air and road, and representing one of the largest investments in Finland’s logistics sector to date.
