China is strengthening its national logistics infrastructure with a new plan focused on digitalisation, data sharing, automation, and stronger connections between transport hubs and corridors.
The plan targets a reduction in total logistics costs to 13.1% of GDP by 2030, while promoting smart and green infrastructure across road, rail, aviation, and maritime networks.
Digital technologies such as 5G, fibre networks, sensors, AI, and edge computing are increasingly being integrated into major transport projects. New logistics-data initiatives are also connecting information across ports, roads, railways, and aviation to improve coordination and visibility.
The strategy reflects China’s broader shift toward data-driven logistics, creating more efficient, interconnected, and resilient supply chains while supporting long-term trade and economic growth.
