January 24, 2024, Pickering, Ontario: In a significant development for the customs brokerage industry, Customs City has announced the imminent launch of its Automated Broker Interface (ABI) platform, set to revolutionize the way customs professionals interact with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP). As a leading digital solutions provider, Customs City has established itself as a critical bridge in this sector. The Customs City ABI platform, approved by the CBP, is designed to streamline and simplify the documentation process for customs brokers in the United States. Utilizing the Electronic Data Exchange System, the platform facilitates seamless communication and document exchanges between customs brokers and the CBP, tackling the challenges of delays and complexities in document transmissions and customs approvals.

Customs brokers often face numerous hurdles in the clearance process, such as customs classification challenges, compliance with Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), managing compliance with Partner Government Agencies (PGA), ensuring intellectual property rights, and maintaining records for CBP mandates. The Customs City ABI platform is equipped with comprehensive tools that enable customs brokers to navigate these challenges with a high degree of automation and reliability. A spokesperson from Customs City highlighted the platform’s capabilities, stating, “Our software streamlines the preparation and validation of documentation and facilitates corrections to entry summaries through a single portal.”

The ABI platform offers various pivotal features for customs brokers, including the creation of entries for different types of shipments, Type 86 mass upload, querying capabilities, real-time data mapping, In-Bonds creation and submission, entry cloning, templates for individual customers, post-summary corrections, reconciliation functionality, and PGA messaging capabilities. Beyond these features, the platform also offers statement processing, manifest queries, syncing cargo release with submitted manifests, generation of entry numbers, and a “Find and Replace” feature for HTS changes. Customs City, renowned for its digital solutions in customs compliance, handles significant volumes of eManifests, including millions of Type 86 entries and Freight Status Notifications (FSNs) monthly. The ABI platform represents Customs City’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and expediting the customs compliance process.
