India’s industrial and logistics warehousing stock in Kolkata has crossed 24 million sq ft, strengthening the city’s role as a major supply chain gateway in Eastern India.
Industrial and logistics leasing reached 1.8 million sq ft in H1 2026, up 69% from the previous six-month period. Strong demand, infrastructure investment and improved multimodal connectivity are supporting continued expansion.
Demand from FMCG and third-party logistics providers has accelerated, with FMCG leasing increasing four-fold year on year. 3PL operators accounted for 35% of cumulative logistics space take-up in Kolkata since 2020.
The market has also attracted approximately $170 million in investment between 2020 and H1 2026, while around 3 million sq ft of additional warehousing capacity is expected by H1 2027.
Beyond Kolkata, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar are emerging as important logistics and industrial centers, strengthening India’s broader eastern supply chain network.
