Amid a rise in online fraud, Globe Telecom is ramping up its digital safety efforts, with a focus on educating Filipinos through its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP). This initiative, which reached 6,196 participants in 2024, aims to raise awareness about cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and ethical technology use.
Globe’s recent sessions in regions like Ilocos Sur, Pampanga, and Davao del Norte helped 450 individuals learn to recognize and prevent online fraud. Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, emphasized the importance of education in combating online threats.
The program has been expanded to schools nationwide, reaching over 200 students, including ICT learners, to empower the next generation with digital safety skills. The goal is to ensure a safe online experience, free from scams, as digital transformation continues to accelerate in the Philippines.
