The Fresno State Transportation Institute, in collaboration with the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation and Measure C, will host the Fresno International Transportation Innovations 2025 S.T.E.P. Summit on March 7 at Valdez Hall in downtown Fresno. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The summit aims to bring together leaders from the transportation and energy sectors, along with policymakers, engineers, and advocates for sustainable transportation. The discussions will focus on advancements in transportation infrastructure, alternative energy sources—including hydrogen, biofuels, and electrification—and strategies to address regional transportation challenges.
The event will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and research presentations. Randell Iwasaki, president and CEO of Iwasaki Consulting Services, Inc., will deliver the morning keynote address, while Bill Elrick, executive director of the Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Partnership, will speak during the lunch session. California Assemblywoman Lori Wilson is also scheduled to participate in a panel discussion on transportation funding and infrastructure projects.
According to organizers, the summit is expected to draw between 200 and 300 attendees, representing both public and private sectors. In addition to discussions, the event will feature a vehicle exhibition, and a juried art exhibition titled “Moving Tomorrow: Art of Clean Futures,” presented in partnership with the Fresno Arts Council.
As part of the event, Fresno State students will present research on sustainable transportation solutions. One such project, developed by graphic design student Anahi Labra, focuses on an interactive website designed to help users select the most sustainable transportation methods.
The summit will conclude with an awards ceremony and a raffle for attendees. Sponsors of the event include Caltrans, the Fresno Council of Governments, Measure C, California High-Speed Rail, Amtrak, and other organizations supporting transportation innovation.
