Singapore-based Commonwealth Kokubu Logistics is advancing sustainability in its cold-chain logistics business by adopting ammonia-based refrigeration across 80% of its operations. The company views these investments not just as environmentally responsible, but as long-term drivers of efficiency and competitiveness.
Managing Director Daniel Tan emphasized that sustainable practices can deliver benefits to both the planet and people while reducing operating costs over time. The company sees greener operations as enhancing resilience, meeting evolving regulatory standards, and aligning with the expectations of environmentally conscious clients and investors.
In addition to ammonia-based solutions, Commonwealth Kokubu is introducing a hybrid energy system at its second facility in Jurong, scheduled to be fully operational by March 2026. These initiatives highlight the company’s commitment to combining innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in its cold-chain logistics operations.
