Microblink Launches ‘Where’s Fraudo?’ to Boost Fraud Prevention Awareness

in Fraud & Scams, Security & Risk

On March 7, 2025, Microblink, a worldwide leader in identity verification, introduced ‘Where’s Fraudo?’, an engaging online game designed to help fraud and risk professionals learn about effective fraud prevention techniques. The game presents various scenarios from different industries like eCommerce, travel, hospitality, gaming, and finance to showcase new ways to fight fraud.

In ‘Where’s Fraudo?’, players must quickly locate a character named Fraudo within a short time limit. This challenge helps players understand how Microblink’s payment card scanning tools can support fraud prevention. The game addresses issues like fraud in online transactions, handling chargebacks, and identity theft, all of which are common challenges today.

Michael Rodriguez, Microblink’s VP of GTM Strategy & Operations, pointed out that fraud is becoming more complex, with consumers misusing chargebacks and advancements in technology making it easier for identity theft and social engineering to occur. He noted that instances of Account Takeover (ATO) are increasing because stolen payment information is available on the dark web. Rodriguez stated that ‘Where’s Fraudo?’ aims to creatively teach fraud and risk teams about important topics like liveness detection and chargeback management, which are crucial for protecting businesses.

The game features specific scenarios where Fraudo tries to commit fraud using stolen payment cards or fake information. Players have just three seconds to find Fraudo and can ask Microblink for help if needed. These scenarios highlight the need for proactive measures to detect fraud.

Microblink further demonstrates its dedication to fighting fraud with the recent launch of its Fraud Lab, a specialized team that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve identity fraud detection. The Fraud Lab focuses on simulating fraud attempts, spotting new threats, and continually enhancing its detection models to keep up with changing fraud tactics.

With initiatives like ‘Where’s Fraudo?’ and the Fraud Lab, Microblink aims to equip businesses with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively tackle the growing threats of fraud, ensuring safer and more reliable operations in today’s digital world.
