China Introduces Comprehensive Tariff Law to Streamline Trade Regulations

A forthcoming Tariff Law is poised to supplant the existing Import and Export Tariff Regulations of the People’s Republic of China, managed by the State Council, while integrating numerous provisions from the current framework.

The impetus behind this legislative update lies in the desire to streamline and consolidate the regulatory landscape governing tariff collection within China. Historically, pertinent regulations were dispersed across various measures and announcements, leading to a lack of clarity and coherence.
