Bitcoin ETFs Garner $4 Billion in Trading Volume

Live data from CoinGlass reveals that Bitcoin ETFs have witnessed a total trading volume exceeding $4 billion, with spot ETFs contributing $3.11 billion to the overall figure.

Among the nine spot Bitcoin ETFs, the top five by trading volume are as follows:

Grayscale Bitcoin Trust: $1.83 billion

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust: $971 million

Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust: $436 million

Ark/21 Shares Bitcoin Trust: $151.53 million

Bitwise Bitcoin ETP: $78.35 million

Bitcoin futures ETFs played a significant role, contributing $983 million in volume, with ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF accounting for $971 million.

The combined trading volume for spot and futures Bitcoin ETFs stands at $4.09 billion. CoinGlass provided data for 23 futures and spot ETFs, with complete price and volume details available for all but three funds.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs have recently concluded their initial days of trading following approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 10, with actual trading commencing on January 11.

Social media channels have been echoing negative sentiment towards Vanguard due to its decision not to support Bitcoin products. While acknowledging Vanguard’s right to make independent listing decisions as a private company, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted the redirected fury from the SEC to Vanguard in light of its anti-Bitcoin stance.
