Air India has expanded its partnership with SATS Ltd. and its subsidiary Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) by awarding 14 new contracts for cargo and ground handling services at major international airports. The decision follows a comprehensive global tendering process. The newly awarded contracts cover airports in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. In addition to renewing 11 existing agreements, Air India has increased its dependence on SATS and WFS for operations at key locations.
Among the newly awarded stations are North American airports in Chicago and Washington Dulles, UK airports such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Birmingham, as well as European hubs in Frankfurt and Milan. Services in Asia have been extended to airports in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
The decision comes after an evaluation of the cargo and ground handling market, with SATS and WFS selected based on their operational network and service coverage. The contracts align with Air India’s focus on streamlining logistics and improving service levels for both passengers and cargo.
