Gabriel EzeGabriel Eze – Secretary of the Board of the Business Council for Legal.

Gabriel Eze, a distinguished member of the International Trade Council and a key figure in the legal sphere, holds the title of “Tech and Trade Lawyer” at Infusion Lawyers. His unique perspective and innovative approach have made him an invaluable asset in the field of international trade, particularly at the intersection of law and technology.

Gabriel’s career journey began with a strong legal foundation, having graduated in law and acquired a license to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Nigeria. This legal background equipped him with a deep understanding of legal principles and their practical applications in addressing clients’ business needs. His decision to venture into the realm of trade and business law was influenced by his experience working in a modern law firm that served global brands. This exposure made him acutely aware of the importance of international business, cross-border trade laws, regulations, and business dynamics.

One of Gabriel’s defining attributes is his ability to integrate diverse worldviews and handle intellectually intense exchanges, a skill that has been instrumental in his career. He combines this with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to professional ethics, making him an effective leader and team player.

His passion for personal and professional growth is evident through his enrollment in various courses, as well as his active participation in the Information Technology Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), where he advocates for technology-related legal issues. Gabriel’s outstanding research and writing skills enable him to communicate complex legal matters clearly and comprehensibly, establishing him as an excellent writer capable of engaging his audience effectively.

Gabriel’s career highlights include his role in assisting multinational corporations in establishing and expanding their operations in Nigeria. His advisory services encompass critical aspects of Nigerian laws, regulations, and policies affecting business operations, providing invaluable support to these organizations.

One of his proudest professional accomplishments is mentoring a vibrant African community of Extended Reality (AR/VR/MR) creators, professionals, and enthusiasts hailing from approximately 15 African countries. This initiative reflects his commitment to fostering innovation and expertise in the tech sector.

The evolving landscape of the legal industry, driven by emerging technologies, is a subject of keen interest to Gabriel. He recognizes that technological innovations are not only changing the world but also disrupting established norms. These innovations challenge conventional practices, compelling industries, including law, to adapt to new ways of doing things, often at a faster pace and with increased cost-effectiveness.

Gabriel envisions the future of law as being characterized by more than just law firms employing digital tools. He anticipates the rise of digital companies providing legal services, transforming the industry in the next 5-10 years.

He is particularly excited about the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in the legal field, recognizing their capacity to streamline processes and enhance legal services.

For aspiring professionals entering the industry, Gabriel offers sage advice: think creatively and seek opportunities to add or create value beyond conventional roles and tasks. Gabriel approaches setbacks and challenges as invaluable learning experiences, viewing them as essential tools for improvement.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, stands as a role model and inspiration for Gabriel in the field. Outside of his professional life, Gabriel finds joy and inspiration in music, arts, and culture, showcasing his multifaceted interests and well-rounded perspective.
