Diotech, a leading Estonian renewable energy solutions provider, has announced the appointment of Raivo Videvik as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Videvik’s appointment is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its position as a key player in the Estonian energy market and expand its footprint into international markets. Founded in 2014, Diotech has emerged as the first systems integrator in the Baltic region to successfully enter the grid-scale battery market. The company will be delivering a 53.1 MWh LG battery system to Eesti Energia’s Auvere industrial complex by early 2025. This large-scale battery system, combined with a customized control solution, is expected to enhance the use of renewable electricity in the region while providing more stable pricing for end consumers. The project’s completion is set to coincide with the planned disconnection of the Baltic countries from the Russian power grid.
Commenting on the appointment, Mart Moora, co-founder of Diotech, noted that the decision to expand the leadership team aligns with the company’s objective of reinforcing its capabilities in offering energy solutions at the grid, industrial, and residential levels. “Raivo Videvik’s extensive experience and strong leadership skills will support Diotech’s continued growth as a comprehensive provider of renewable energy solutions,” stated Moora. Videvik highlighted the significance of this transition, emphasizing Diotech’s growth trajectory and the evolving role of energy solutions in the current geopolitical climate. “Today, we are positioned as a leader in the sector, offering advanced renewable energy solutions that not only increase energy efficiency but also empower consumers to manage their consumption based on real-time prices,” said Videvik.
Over the past decade, Diotech has focused on developing energy-efficient lighting and resource-saving solutions, building over 1,000 solar power plants. More than 100 of these installations have been converted into controllable power capacities. The company’s recent partnership with South Korea’s LG Energy Solution for the Eesti Energia battery project marks a new phase in Diotech’s international collaboration efforts. “The priority in this new role is to strengthen our business and retail sales, ensuring we can deliver complete energy systems that cover all aspects of sustainable energy management,” Videvik added.
Diotech’s operations extend beyond Estonia, with subsidiaries including Diotech Electric OÜ, Diotech Nord OÜ, and Solar Wheel OÜ (Sunecor), and a presence in Latvia and Lithuania. The group’s annual turnover is currently estimated at 25 million euros.
