Romania has completed a major expansion of a grain terminal at the Port of Constanța, increasing storage capacity from 110,000 to 180,000 tonnes to support rising agricultural trade across the Black Sea. The upgraded facility enhances grain handling efficiency with new storage silos, faster truck and barge unloading systems, and improved vessel-loading capabilities, helping reduce congestion during peak harvest seasons.
The expanded infrastructure strengthens river-to-sea logistics along the Danube corridor, improving supply chain resilience for domestic grain producers and regional transit cargo. By boosting export capacity and streamlining cargo movement, the project reinforces Romania’s role as a key agricultural logistics hub connecting European and global grain markets.
