South Korea Expands Logistics Investment

in Warehousing & Distribution

South Korea’s logistics property market continues to attract institutional investment, with a major warehouse transaction highlighting growing interest in modern distribution infrastructure.

A large logistics facility in Pyeongtaek has been acquired for approximately KRW 343 billion (US$252.6 million) by a domestic institutional investment vehicle. The 190,000-square-metre facility, completed in 2023, is located near Pyeongtaek Port and serves as an important distribution point for the Seoul metropolitan area and nearby industrial clusters.

The facility features direct vehicle access to warehouse floors, extensive truck yards, high ceilings and substantial power capacity, supporting efficient storage and distribution operations. Its proximity to a major port also strengthens connections between maritime trade and inland supply chains.

Pyeongtaek has developed into an important logistics hub, with logistics capacity expanding significantly in recent years. Growing demand from e-commerce, third-party logistics providers and industrial users is encouraging continued investment in modern warehouses and distribution facilities.

South Korea’s logistics investment market is also benefiting from increased institutional participation. As occupiers increasingly seek automation, modern facilities and consolidation opportunities, investment in high-quality logistics infrastructure is helping strengthen the country’s supply chain capacity and distribution network.
