in Supply chain and Logistics

South Korea and Japan are strengthening business cooperation focused on supply chains, energy security, and emerging industries, with business leaders from both countries calling for closer economic integration.

The discussions took place at the 15th Korea Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leaders Meeting in Sendai, where representatives explored opportunities to build stronger industrial and commercial connections between the two economies.

Critical minerals and energy supply chains were identified as key areas for practical cooperation. The two business groups agreed to explore expanded stockpiles and reciprocal arrangements involving crude oil, petroleum products, and liquefied natural gas to support greater supply security.

The groups also highlighted opportunities in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, clean energy, advanced industries, and startups. Greater collaboration in these sectors could strengthen regional production networks while supporting technological development and industrial growth.

Regional business partnerships were also emphasized, with chambers from cities in South Korea and Japan continuing to develop long term commercial exchanges. These connections are expected to create additional opportunities for businesses and communities across both countries.

The cooperation reflects a broader effort to develop more connected and resilient supply chains across East Asia, while expanding collaboration in critical resources, energy, technology, and green industries.
