DHL Express has made significant strides in advancing its green logistics objectives with the addition of 22 new electric vans (EVs) to its fleet, now comprising nearly 70 electric vehicles. This expansion, bringing electric vehicles to 35% of its total fleet, marks a notable rise from 24% the previous year. This initiative is part of DHL Express’ commitment to its “Green Logistics of Choice” strategy, aligning with the company’s broader environmental goals under Strategy 2030.
The move reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact, focusing on decreasing greenhouse gas emissions through cleaner transportation technologies, such as EVs and alternative fuels, alongside optimized transportation routes. As part of this transition, DHL Express is pursuing its global aim of electrifying 60% of its fleet by 2030, in line with parent company DHL Group’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Since the introduction of EVs to its Philippine operations in December 2021, DHL Express has continued to prioritize sustainability. The company also launched its GoGreen Plus initiative in 2023, which enables customers to reduce carbon emissions from international air shipments by utilizing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Strategic partnerships with companies like bp, Neste, and World Energy support this initiative, further establishing DHL Express as a leader in sustainable logistics.
With these initiatives, DHL Express is reinforcing its role in fostering greener logistics solutions and contributing to the global push for sustainable, low-emission transportation practices.
