Typically, robot programming in the manufacturing sector is a fragmented and costly affair, often requiring extensive training due to the use of proprietary programming languages. Augmentus aims to simplify this process by offering intelligent, no-code solutions that enable rapid and efficient programming of industrial robots.

Growth Potential in the Robotics Software Market

The industrial robotics software market is expected to grow significantly, reaching an estimated $47 billion by 2030. Augmentus’ no-code, vision-based robotics system positions the company at the forefront of this expansion. Their platform uses 3D cameras and AI to capture spatial data and recommend optimal robot movement paths, thereby reducing the need for technical expertise and downtime during reprogramming.

Efficiency Gains and Cost Reduction

With Augmentus’ technology, manufacturers can drastically cut down process automation time from weeks to just 15 minutes, while also enhancing accuracy and efficiency. This results in a cost reduction of over 70%.

Global Expansion and Diverse Applications

The new funding will support Augmentus’ expansion efforts in the United States, Europe, and Asia, as well as cater to growing customer demands across various industries. The company’s technology has already been deployed in over thirty manufacturers worldwide and is compatible with more than ten major robot OEMs. Customers include Fortune 500 companies such as Hyundai, Applied Materials, and ST Engineering.

Future Plans and Research Initiatives

Augmentus plans to use part of the investment for research and development, focusing on innovative automation solutions that simplify complex manufacturing processes. The company’s Augmentus System Partner (ASP) program will also be leveraged to onboard global system integrators and channel partners, targeting high-mix and complex manufacturing sectors.

Comments from Industry Leaders

Leong Yong Shin, Co-Founder and CEO of Augmentus, expressed excitement about the future, particularly in leveraging Sierra Ventures’ expertise. Ben Yu, Managing Partner at Sierra Ventures, emphasized the necessity of efficient programming solutions in industrial robotics. Will Klippgen, Managing Partner at Cocoon Capital, praised the team’s quick achievement of product-market fit and global engagement.
