Vietnam’s Job Market Expected to Expand in 2025 with Technology and Sustainability Leading the Way

in Blockchain in Supply Chain, Industry

Vietnam’s job market is projected to experience significant growth in 2025, with high demand expected in sectors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital transformation, according to TopCV, a leading recruitment platform in the country.

In the technology sector, there is anticipated demand for roles such as software developers, data analysts, and cybersecurity engineers. Manufacturing and logistics industries are expected to focus on hiring automation engineers, supply chain managers, and quality control specialists to enhance processes and integrate new technologies.

The renewable energy and green economy sectors are also expected to see increased demand, particularly for environmental engineers, clean energy developers, and sustainable project managers, as Vietnam accelerates its shift toward sustainability.

The e-commerce and customer service industries are projected to maintain strong hiring trends, with positions like digital marketing specialists, customer experience managers, and support professionals expected to be in demand due to rising consumer demand and digital transformation.

In traditional sectors, job growth is also predicted. Recruitment in wholesale and retail is expected to increase by 4.5%, manufacturing by 5%, and banking, finance, and insurance by 3%.

Experts emphasize the importance of upskilling as technological advancements and digital transformation continue to reshape the job market. Job seekers are encouraged to enhance their skills to remain competitive in the evolving market.

Although there will be ample job opportunities, unskilled laborers may face challenges such as reduced income or job displacement due to automation and AI integration. Some workers may also exit the labor market as production models shift to automated and AI-driven processes.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs notes that the biggest challenge will be the weak capacity for career transitions among workers, stemming from limited market information and skill gaps.

Recruitment professionals highlight the importance of career orientation based on market demand and personal growth potential, with a particular focus on tech-related skills like data analysis and AI proficiency. The increasing prevalence of remote and hybrid work models also requires workers to develop strong digital communication skills and adaptability.

Hà Nội’s Centre for Employment Services has reported labor shortages in high-skilled fields such as IT, engineering, and healthcare, while the supply of unskilled labor remains plentiful. At the same time, challenges persist in aligning training, health, and income expectations with business needs.

Salary expectations in Hà Nội range from VND 7 million to VND 15 million (approximately US$280 to $600) for most positions, with skilled roles in IT and finance commanding salaries of over VND 20 million (approximately $800).

The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in Hà Nội aims to create 169,000 jobs in 2025, focusing on skilled and specialized labor to meet the city’s economic goals.
