Microsoft and Submittable Partner for Enhanced Social Impact Tools

Microsoft Corp. has entered into a strategic partnership with Submittable, a prominent provider of grants management and corporate social responsibility (CSR) software. This collaboration, announced on October 26, 2023, aims to leverage Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI Service to support the creation of new tools designed to expedite social impact activities for a variety of organizations.

Submittable’s initial launch under this partnership includes an innovative suite of AI-enhanced tools intended to streamline the grant application process. These tools feature:

  • An AI-powered service that automatically completes grant applications by drawing from an applicant’s previous responses.
  • An AI bot capable of constructing grant forms and translating them into various languages, facilitating a broader reach across linguistic divides.
  • An AI-assisted feature that transfers data from formal documents into Submittable, simplifying the submission and review process while minimizing errors and fraudulent activities.

Submittable’s upcoming solutions, hosted on Microsoft Azure, will be integrated with the common data model and Microsoft Teams, expanding their operational capabilities.

Justin Spelhaug, vice president and global lead for Microsoft’s Technology for Social Impact division, emphasized the shared goal of enhancing the efficiency of social impact organizations. This partnership aspires to fill the historical gap in advanced technological solutions available to the social sector.

As a Microsoft Tech for Social Impact priority partner, Submittable is aligning its developments with Microsoft’s extensive tech ecosystem, including industry-specific tools like Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit. These integrations are tailored to offer a comprehensive view of the impact of funds raised from donations and grants.

Thor Culverhouse, CEO of Submittable, highlights the importance of quality tools for those spearheading social engagement in various sectors. The company’s partnership with Microsoft will utilize Azure and OpenAI services to accelerate social impact for their customers.

Submittable’s solutions are currently accessible through Azure Marketplace and AppSource. Both Microsoft and Submittable are committed to jointly marketing sector-specific solutions and collaborating on further innovations to assist organizations in realizing their social impact ambitions.
