The Lenzing Group, a leading supplier of regenerated cellulose fibers for the textile and nonwovens industries, has been awarded platinum status in the EcoVadis Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) rating. This prestigious rating evaluates companies on four key practices: environmental responsibility, fair working conditions and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
For the fourth consecutive year, Lenzing has earned this platinum status from EcoVadis, placing the company in the top one percent of rated companies worldwide. This year, Lenzing made significant progress in the areas of sustainable procurement and ethics, while also improving its performance in labor, human rights, and certifications.
EcoVadis, founded in 2007, is recognized as the world’s largest and most trusted provider of sustainability ratings, with a global network of over 130,000 rated companies. The EcoVadis assessment framework examines a company’s policies, actions, and public reports on environmental practices, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Stephan Sielaff, CEO of the Lenzing Group, expressed his pride in the company’s achievements: “At Lenzing, we are committed to making our industries more sustainable and advancing the transformation of the textile business model from a linear to a circular economy. This approach is deeply embedded in our strategy and corporate values. I am particularly pleased with this highest rating from a respected international organization, and I am proud that Lenzing has now been awarded platinum status for the fourth time.”
Under its “Naturally Positive” sustainability strategy, Lenzing has set ambitious goals in its core strategic areas to further its transition to a circular economy. The company provides annual updates on its sustainability initiatives and progress through its sustainability report, which was positively highlighted by EcoVadis in their assessment.
