IRIS Lines, the shipping division of Royal Cargo, has introduced smart container services in collaboration with Loginno, a leading global provider of smart container technology. This initiative marks the first application of such technology in domestic container shipping in the Philippines, positioning IRIS Lines as a leader in maritime innovation.
The smart container technology aims to transform shipping management in the country by streamlining operations, reducing delays, and improving service quality. The use of this technology enhances visibility, allowing clients to monitor their shipments in real-time, ensuring greater reliability and security.

This project is part of Loginno’s “The Contopia Factor 3” (TCF3) initiative, which aims to create a global smart container data infrastructure in two phases. The first phase focuses on enhancing visibility for shipping companies and customers, while the second phase integrates broader applications, including governmental systems, port operations, cargo insurance, and customs.
The initiative is supported by the Israeli Trade Office in the Philippines and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), showcasing a collaborative effort to modernize the country’s logistics and transportation sectors.
On August 8, IRIS Lines launched its smart container project by shipping two 40-foot dry containers from Manila aboard the vessel MV IRIS Paoay V.418S, bound for Cagayan de Oro. This move is seen as a significant step toward redefining the shipping industry in the Philippines, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and innovation in maritime transport.
