The Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo) has announced the selection of MV Transportation to manage its IndyGo Access paratransit services. This decision follows a national competitive process that evaluated potential providers based on best value procurement. The contract is set to commence on March 1, 2025, with an initial term of three years and options for two additional one-year extensions.
IndyGo Access offers reservation-based, shared-ride services to individuals who meet the criteria established by the U.S. Department of Transportation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Operating throughout Marion County, the service aligns its availability with IndyGo’s fixed-route bus system schedules. As of 2024, IndyGo Access maintained a fleet of 75 vehicles and completed over 105,000 trips.
Michael Roth, IndyGo’s Deputy Chief Transportation Officer, expressed confidence in the new partnership, stating, “IndyGo is greatly impressed with MV Transportation’s strong reputation for excellence in paratransit services. We believe this provider’s expertise will greatly enhance our paratransit riders’ overall experience, and its dedication will uphold our commitment to providing the safest and most reliable service possible.”
MV Transportation is recognized as one of the largest privately-owned passenger transportation contracting firms in the United States. Serving over 110 million passengers annually across 30 states and Canada, the company employs a workforce of more than 20,000 transit professionals. Their service offerings encompass paratransit, fixed-route operations, campus and corporate shuttles, as well as student transportation.
This partnership aims to enhance the quality and reliability of paratransit services for residents of Indianapolis and its surrounding areas, ensuring accessible transportation options for all eligible individuals.
