IDS, an industrial camera manufacturer, will be showcasing its latest technologies in area scan, 3D, and artificial intelligence (AI) vision at booth 2855 during Automate, North America’s prominent robotics and automation event. The event will take place from May 6 to May 9, 2024, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Among the highlighted technologies will be Ensenso 3D cameras, designed to meet the demands of 3D vision and robot vision applications. IDS will present various models from the Ensenso 3D camera product line, including the Ensenso C, which offers both 3D and RGB color information. With a resolution of 5 MP and available baselines of 240 mm or 455 mm, the Ensenso C enables reliable capture of large objects with high accuracy.
A cobot pick and place demo featuring the Ensenso N series will demonstrate the robustness and compactness of these cameras, suitable for use in harsh environments. The N-series, with its compact design, is suitable for 3D detection of moving and stationary objects in both stationary and mobile applications on robot arms.
Additionally, IDS will showcase the PartFinder function, an add-on module in the EnsensoSDK, which enables object localization by loading customer-specific CAD geometries and locating them within the point clouds captured by Ensenso 3D cameras. This solution, integrated into the EnsensoSDK GUI tools, is optimized for the Ensenso camera series.
IDS invites attendees to visit booth 2855 to explore these new products and demonstrations, including an event-based camera system. In addition to booth activities, IDS will host a knowledge base session titled “Which 3D Imaging Technique is right for you?” The event is free to attend.
