BEIJING — Beijing is set to host the third Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit on May 13, 2024, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) announced this Sunday. This international event is expected to draw participation from 34 countries and regions, as well as 159 institutions from across the globe.
CCPIT spokesperson Zhao Ping detailed the scale and significance of the upcoming summit during a press conference. According to Zhao, the summit will welcome a diverse group of attendees, including heads of international organizations, leaders of economic institutions, and high-level representatives from prominent global companies such as Tesla and Walmart. Notably, Dilma Rousseff, president of the New Development Bank, is among the confirmed attendees.
The summit’s agenda will focus on a variety of critical economic issues. Key topics include improving global supply chain operations and promoting bilateral entrepreneurial exchanges, particularly between the United States and China. These discussions aim to advance the “San Francisco Vision,” an initiative designed to foster increased economic cooperation and development between the two nations.
Organizers of the summit hope that the event will serve as a platform for constructive dialogue and partnership, enhancing trade relations and investment opportunities across the world. The presence of influential business leaders and international stakeholders underscores the summit’s importance as a central hub for global economic discourse.
