Vadodara, Gujarat – Sudeep Pharma Private Limited has announced its entry into the clean energy storage sector with the launch of its subsidiary, Sudeep Advanced Materials (SAM). This new initiative will focus on producing Iron Phosphate for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, utilizing the company’s extensive experience in green chemistry from its pharmaceutical and food industry background. Sudeep Pharma began producing Iron Phosphate in 2015 and has since established itself as a leading global producer of food-grade Iron Phosphate. The company has a production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes and has developed environmentally friendly processes aimed at reducing water and gas emissions. SAM plans to apply these sustainable methods to manufacture Green Iron Phosphate for use in EV battery systems.
To support this initiative, the company has set up a Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) to validate the performance of its products with potential clients, laying the groundwork for commercial production. Additionally, a new 30-acre Commercialization Hub is being developed to produce 100,000 metric tonnes annually of precursor cathode active materials (pCAMs), including Iron Phosphate and Manganese Derivatives, with production set to commence in phase one in 2026. SAM’s operations will leverage Sudeep Pharma’s three decades of expertise in raw material sourcing, particularly in procuring Phosphoric Acid, ensuring a reliable supply chain for its manufacturing processes.
Julian Dunn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stated, “The launch of SAM represents a strategic move into the global battery market, building on our strong foundation in phosphate manufacturing.” Director Shanil Bhayani emphasized, “Our commitment to sustainability and societal impact has been a cornerstone of our work in the nutrition and food sectors. With SAM, we aim to drive forward innovative, sustainable solutions for battery technologies.”
