Silicon Valley-based Omega Global Technologies Inc. (Omega GTI) has inaugurated a regional operations center in Malvar, Batangas, Philippines, marking a significant development in the nation’s logistics and supply chain sector. The facility commenced operations on March 6, 2025, as reported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Kristine Umali, Trade Commissioner at the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Silicon Valley, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion. She noted that Omega GTI’s presence enhances the Philippines’ role as a pivotal hub in the global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain. Umali stated, “This move also paves the way for deeper collaboration between Silicon Valley and the Philippines, driving innovation and investment opportunities.”
Omega GTI specializes in comprehensive supply chain solutions tailored to the semiconductor and electronics industries. A notable feature of the new facility is its laboratory dedicated to testing electronic components, ensuring their authenticity and quality.
Company President Zedric Ochoa emphasized the rationale behind selecting the Philippines for this expansion. He cited the country’s abundant talent pool, strong work ethic, and resilience as key factors aligning with Omega GTI’s corporate vision. Ochoa remarked, “Choosing the Philippines for this expansion was a strategic decision. This country is home to incredible talent, a strong work ethic, and a spirit of perseverance that aligns perfectly with our company’s vision.”
Executive Vice President Jayson Alfonso outlined the company’s broader objectives, expressing a commitment to fostering innovation, generating employment, and bolstering the Philippines’ standing in the global electronics and technology sectors. Industry projections by market research firm Statista indicate that the Philippines’ transportation and logistics market is poised for growth. An anticipated annual increase of 1.73% from 2025 to 2029 is expected, potentially reaching a market value of $63.71 billion by the end of this period.
Omega GTI’s establishment in Batangas reflects a broader trend of foreign investments in the Philippines, underscoring the nation’s strategic appeal in the rapidly evolving semiconductor and electronics manufacturing landscape.
