Goodyear has appointed Don Metzelaar as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain, effective January 9. In this role, Metzelaar will oversee the company’s global operations group and manage its global and regional manufacturing and supply chain functions. He will also be responsible for environmental, health and safety, business continuity, manufacturing engineering, quality, and product lifecycle management.
This appointment follows a restructuring of the company’s operations. Previously, Chris Helsel led Goodyear’s combined global operations and technology division. The company has since separated these functions, with Helsel now focusing on the technology team.
Metzelaar brings over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing sector. Prior to joining Goodyear, he served as Chief Manufacturing Officer and Global Vice President at Johnson Controls International. He has also held leadership roles at Whirlpool, Honeywell, and Motorola.
