FedEx has introduced new export permit services at selected 2GO locations throughout the Philippines. This initiative is designed to make international shipping easier for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and online shops, helping them access global markets more smoothly.
The service includes a variety of products, such as seafood, electronic storage devices, and other consumer goods, ensuring that all necessary local and international regulations are met. This move comes in response to the rising need for efficient shipping solutions, especially as cross-border trade continues to grow in the region.
FedEx will help businesses obtain permits, like those required by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for seafood exports and certifications from the Optical Media Board (OMB) for electronics. This way, Filipino businesses can expand their reach beyond local markets. The service will also assist with certificates of origin, making it simpler for companies to fulfill international trade requirements.
This partnership shows FedEx’s dedication to helping SMEs and online retailers tackle their shipping challenges as they enter the global market. A recent survey by FedEx indicates that digital sales and cross-border trade are expected to keep growing in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the importance of these services for local businesses aiming to expand.
As the need for effective shipping solutions rises, this initiative is expected to enhance the Philippines’ export capabilities and contribute to economic growth in the area.
