The 42nd Annual Southern African Transport Conference (SATC) is set for July 8 to July 11, 2024, at the CSIR International Convention Centre (ICC) in Pretoria, South Africa. This year’s theme is “Upskilling and Reskilling the Transport Industry for Current and Future Challenges.”

As the longest-running transport conference in Southern Africa, SATC is a premier forum for discussing transport issues. It provides a platform for enthusiasts, professionals, and experts to network, share research, and engage in technology transfer. The conference also emphasizes capacity building through various courses.

Supported by the Department of Transport and the International Road Federation, SATC aims to foster national and international dialogue on transport as a socio-economic development priority. It serves as a forum for discussing transport policy, strategy, and technology applications across all transportation modes, seeking to enhance cooperation among public and private sector stakeholders to develop solutions and action plans.

Attracting around 700 delegates each year, the conference is particularly relevant for funding agencies, government representatives, policymakers, academics, researchers, and professionals involved in all aspects of transportation, including planning, construction, logistics, and safety for passenger and freight transport across road, rail, maritime, and aviation sectors.
