COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS and BLG LOGISTICS have established a strategic partnership to enhance the importation of vehicles from China to Europe. This agreement, finalized at the end of 2024, combines the expertise of both companies in automotive logistics and the handling of high & heavy goods.
Under this partnership, the BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven (ATB) is designated as a central port of entry for the German market and as a hub for markets in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Baltic states. COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS plans to establish a liner service that includes Bremerhaven, with at least two calls per month.
BLG LOGISTICS will provide its network, encompassing seaport terminals, inland terminals, technical services, and transportation by road and rail, to support COSCO SHIPPING CAR CARRIERS and Chinese manufacturers. This collaboration aims to offer importers comprehensive logistics solutions from production facilities in China to dealerships across Europe.
The BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven handles, transports, or processes approximately 1.5 million vehicles annually, making it one of the largest car terminals globally. Spanning 295 hectares, the facility can accommodate around 70,000 vehicles before they are transported onward by road, rail, or water. The terminal also features three technical centers that provide various on-site services.
This partnership reflects a broader trend of increased collaboration between Chinese and European logistics companies to meet the growing demand for efficient vehicle importation and distribution across Europe.
