Cainiao, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group and a leader in e-commerce logistics, is advancing its services with the expansion of its ‘5 work-day delivery solution’ to several European countries. This initiative, first launched in Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe in summer 2023, aims to enhance the efficiency of cross-border e-commerce logistics. The service was initially rolled out in Spain, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands in September 2023, leveraging existing infrastructure such as the Cainiao Liege eHub and its self-operated delivery services in Spain.
Following positive responses, Cainiao has extended this service to Germany, France, and Portugal, collaborating closely with local partners to streamline the logistics process. Cainiao’s innovative approach integrates advanced technology and an extensive logistics network, allowing AliExpress sellers in China to offer significantly reduced delivery times. Customers in the newly included European markets can now expect deliveries within just five working days, addressing the growing demand for faster and more reliable delivery services. Founded in 2013, Cainiao has continually focused on transforming logistics through technology, aiming for delivery times of 24 hours within China and 72 hours globally.
The recent expansions in Europe mark a significant step in Cainiao’s mission to build a more connected and efficient delivery network. Lin Wan, CEO of Cainiao Group, emphasized the importance of the European markets in the company’s strategy. “The expansion of our 5 work-day delivery solution to additional European markets underscores our dedication to improving global logistics infrastructure and optimizing delivery solutions for our customers,” Wan stated. This move is set to enhance the satisfaction of both sellers and consumers by providing faster, more efficient cross-border logistics services.
