BJ’s Wholesale Club is set to open a new distribution center in Commercial Point, Ohio, in early 2027, according to a company announcement on January 28. The facility will cover over 500,000 square feet and will serve as a hub for replenishing grocery products and general merchandise across the retailer’s network.
The new distribution center, the fourth in BJ’s network, will incorporate automated pallet storage, case-handling equipment, and mixed-case pallet building, in collaboration with technology vendor Swisslog. This move is part of BJ’s ongoing efforts to expand its supply chain capacity to match its growing store network.
In the last five years, BJ’s has opened 30 new stores, including its 250th location in Louisville, Kentucky, on January 31. The distribution center, which sits on 125 acres of land, has the potential for future expansion to accommodate further growth.
BJ’s has been making strategic investments in its supply chain, and the opening of this new center reflects the company’s commitment to improving operational efficiency.
